Writers for New Orleans Workshop

In just about a week, I'll be heading to New Orleans to join Connie and start getting ready for our Writers weekend. Thank all of you who can come, and all of you who have donated to our auctions and raffles. Hopefully, we'll do very good things.

We have amazing panels of speakers including agents and editors--and producers, having recently verified that we will have Lane Shefter Bishop with us; Lane is a producer/director with many awards and accolades; you can read her bio on the site! Eric Raab will be there, bringing in another venue of entertainment--gaming. I'm delighted that we'll have our first law enforcement panel as well, and that we have a full day of offerings on Friday as well as Saturday. We've worked hard on goodie bags, and hope you'll enjoy them.

We believe we've had a wonderful year with information going out regarding our autographing. As well, Helen Rosburg will welcome our crew early with Angelique and a champagne reception, and Kathy, Erin, and Paul will be hosting the evening on Bourbon Street. Please remember, you're welcome to wear your costume to the party, or not, and that there will be a game with some great prizes. Saturday night, our theme remains war--or peace, really, as the Slushpile band backs up the Slushpile Players during Civil War Zombies for Peace. If you're thinking Rhett Butler, a general, or a Southern belle, you can dress your costume up in style for Friday night--and zombie it down for Saturday night. Or, wear your can-can outfit, black dress, or best pirate attire. Have fun--we intend to! Remember, and be forewarned, our dinner theater is interactive. More games and prizes.

Saturday evening, as you come to the party, you'll have a unique opportunity to donate to our three causes and have great memories. You can have pictures taken, alone, with a beau, with a friend--or as many friends as you can fit together. Sean Meyers, graphic designer, will take photos and get them to everyone digitally within the next few days. Of course, you can use your own cameras! But if want some special shots, come on down!

What happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans.

No, no not really. We love to read great blogs about your view of the event!
